Frozen Rails 2010

Although Berlin looks a bit like Antarctica right now, I'm really looking forward to travel to Helsinki, Finland for Frozen Rails on May 7th.

Forzen Rails is organized by the guys from the HHLinuxCliub and Kisko Labs. I've met them in Amsterdam back in October and we had a great time. I'm sure Frozen Rails will be too.

Ruby En Rails 2009 Recap

The last past days in Amsterdam for Ruby En Rails 2009 were really great.

I arrived on Thursday and had the chance to discuss a possible security vulnerability in Rails I discovered a while back with Yehuda and Mislav during lunch.

Afterwards we went to the conference dinner and met many very nice people and had a long discussion about voting systems, European vs. American culture, gun laws, and political systems.

October Events!

Another month, another batch of events to head out for! It’s been a busy month here at Engine Yard, with product announcements, moving and general growth, but we’ve still made time to travel the globe. These are the plans:

Aloha on Rails

October 5-6 | Waikiki, Oahu, Hawaii

12 Interesting Upcoming Ruby and Rails Events (That Aren’t Sold Out)

Wanted to go to JRubyConf or RubyConf this year? Tough - they're sold out already. Luckily, though, there are some interesting upcoming events that you can still get in to - some online, some in multiple cities, some held in youth centers, some in hotels, and even one on a tropical island. Whew!

(Update: Removed Aloha on Rails as it has sold out - thanks to Tammer Saleh for the note.)

RubyEnRails 2009

RubyEnRails 2009 goes down this 30/31 October in Amsterdam. Talks are in English and Dutch.

RubyEnRails has been all-volunteer for four years running, building on a history of sweet venues, good talks, and great company. It’s gradually grown from a local gathering to a full-fledged European event, and this year it’s also stepping up to fill the shoes of RailsConf EU.

Yehuda and I are speaking and will be mixing a potent batch of Rails 3 kool-aid. Please join us for a sip!

GitHub Meetup in Amsterdam

I’m in Amsterdam for Kings of Code (which was awesome) and will be at Cafe de Jaren Thursday (the 2nd) at 8pm.

Stop by and have a drink if you’re in the neighborhood!

Not sure who to look for? Check the BusinessWeek photo (I’m on the right).
