In what is clearly a move to make me irrelevant within the Rails community, news has broken about the new Rails metal feature before I had the time to do a proper write-up. (And for the second time in as many weeks, no less). I need to get on my horse here, many apologies.

Microblogging on Twitter

Earlier this year, I started using twitter. I was not at all convinced it would be worth my time. I didn’t really understand why I would want to tell people “what I’m doing right now.”

While some people literally tweet what they’re doing every five minutes, I discovered that many people don’t. And so now, I “get it”. I’ve found the key is not follow a lot of people – I currently follow about 70 – otherwise it’s a firehose.

Go Ahead and Complain

Twitter is an excellent service for allowing people to vent. I’d guess a large percentage of the messages that pump through the site are complaints about something (technology, airlines, restaurants, etc.). I know I’ve posted my share of complaints.

A couple of days ago, Chris Wanstrath linked to one of his Twitter complaints from a year and a half ago:

tinymce load tiny_mce.js on demand

we are using tinymce for editing. As most of the administrative functionality on our site is available via javascript only i felt the need to load the sources of tinyMCE
on demand. The post i found at moxiecode forum was not helpful. The Article JavaScript Madness: Dynamic Script Loading by Jan Wolter was.

Here is a way to solve this:

First add the following lines at the bottom of tiny_mce_src.js
