Rails for PHP Developers Talk at Big LAMP Camp

Rails for PHP Developers Talk at Big LAMP Camp

Enterprise LAMP Summit and Big LAMP Camp

I’ll be doing a talk at the Big LAMP Camp on Saturday, November 7th in Franklin, Tennessee. If you’re a PHP developer looking to add Rails to your skill set (not replace) then this talk is for you. Here’s the pitch.

Rails for the PHP Developer

PHP and Rails are both great for creating web applications. Adding Ruby and Rails to your developers toolbox is probably the easiest coming from the PHP world. There are differences though. In Rails for the PHP Developer, you’ll receive a high-level overview of Ruby and Rails, and delve into the specific differences between the two, including basic syntax, data types, variables, blocks, functions, objects, and much more. By the end of this talk you’ll have the fundamentals in place to add Ruby on Rails to your toolbox.

Both days have heavy hitting talks on the bleeding edge of PHP. As a former PHP developer myself, and having worked with a PHP firm for the past 2 months, I’m interested to see how far PHP has come.

I look forward to seeing all of my PHPeeps there.
