Timelines.com Launches; RailsConf 2009

Geoff, Zach, Trevor, Bob, Brian, and I (Scott) recently launched Timelines.com. Timelines is a place for people to record and share history about any topic. We want it to be the Wikipedia of event-based information, but unlike Wikipedia we want everyone to have a voice and add their own perspectives (and photos, videos, etc) about [...]

Internet World: What's the Point?

Last week, the greatest client in the world & I travelled to London to the Internet World exhibition. Ian asked me about whether it was worth it. Let me try to paint a picture for you:

Author Interview - The Well-Grounded Rubyist

Now that Manning has released The Well-Grounded Rubyist by David A. Black, I wanted to sit down with him and talk a bit about his new book.

Memento RPM

Last week we finally had use for New Relic's RPM service which we have been using for the last couple of months. Our cluster is approaching it's application limit and we are using RPM to monitor it closely.

I found myself needing a quick glance of how our apps are doing wherever I am. Therefore I started work on a small app that would gather and display the RPM statistics using their new API.
